Previously, he was a member of the team that steered BAA into the private sector
(the first major airport privatisation). At the Portland Group, he worked
on a number of projects including business planning for the new Athens Airport,
sale of Jakarta Airport, purchase of stakes in East Midlands and Stewart
International Airport by National Express. In 2000, The Portland Group was
purchased by Macquarie Bank. At Macquarie Bank, Simon was involved in most of
the airport acquisitions made by Macquarie and its Infrastructure Funds between
2001 and 2007 including Bristol, Birmingham, Rome, Brussels and Copenhagen. He
acted as Director at Birmingham Airport and Aeroporti di Roma Handling. Simon joined Jacobs
Consultancy in October 2007 after 15 year experience with BAA, the Portland
Group and Macquarie Bank. With Jacobs Consultancy he has directed projects in Slovakia, the
Netherlands and the UK
