Mike is an experienced rail business consultant and demand forecasting
expert, with over 20 years' experience in a wide variety of rail
studies. In the UK, Mike has worked extensively with the Strategic
Rail Authority, Network Rail and with the Department for Transport
in developing demand and revenue forecasting models and providing
advice on related issues.
As well as rail and multi-modal passenger demand forecasting, Mike
has also worked on freight forecasting, rail operational and performance
modelling, and rail fare pricing and yield management. Mike's expertise
has also regularly been applied in carrying out reviews of demand
forecasts and business case appraisals for rail passenger and freight
schemes as well as light rail and guided bus schemes, both in the
UK and overseas - on behalf of investment banks, concession bidders,
government bodies, rail infrastructure companies and rail operating
companies.

Prior Experience:
Before joining Jacobs Consultancy, Mike worked within British Rail
HQ (in the Operational Research group and Network SouthEast headquarters),
and was the author of the 1997 UK railway industry's 'Passenger
Demand Forecasting Handbook'.
